Hey all,

I have been lagging on blogging lately and I apologize. Things have been busy busy and I just haven’t been keeping y’all updated.

We have a few new resident’s at the rescue. Beauty, a black QH mare; a precious mini; and the sweetest little donkey. I’m embarrassed to say that I don’t even know the names of the mini, or the donkey.

Lady, the sorrel mare (Star’s mama), who had been at the trainer for 30-days is back at the rescue now. She will need another 60-90 days of training, but she has definitely come a long way.

In sad news, we lost one of our volunteers this week. Lynn Mariucci, a wonderful lady who was full of love and compassion, passed away as a result of complications from leukemia treatment. The horses will definitely miss her. She had been studying equine massage therapy, and enjoyed studying Parelli horsemanship as well.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend, and that the rain stays away long enough to get outside and horse around.

Volunteers needed for a very special day. We will be taking some horses to the conference center in Hesston, KS on Saturday, July 19 as part of a benefit for children at camp who are dealing with cancer. Volunteers will lead horses while the children ride them. The event is from 9AM-Noon. Volunteers can meet at the rescue that morning, and then all ride together to Hesston. Please call Ande on her cell at 316-519-4129 if you'd like to be part of this very important event.
