CAP AND GAB

Last week was a sad one at the rescue. We lost Captain, and Gabriella.

Captain was a gelding in his 20s who came to us this past fall. He was underfed, and neglected, at that time. He was gaining weight, and doing well. We aren't exactly sure what happened other than he got kicked. We put him in a pen by himself so that he could recuperate, but he ended up going down and we couldn't get him back up. He was in pain, and so the decision was made to let him go.
Gabriella was stillborn on Thursday. Sally, her mama is a pony, and judging by the size of Gabriella - her daddy was definitely not a pony. We are lucky to have not lost Sally during the birthing process. On the bright side, we are happy to report that Sally has been adopted, and will be going to her forever home soon.

ROCKY AND AJ

We had two geldings come in today. Rocky is 32, and a QH. He is a little underweight. AJ is a 16 year old Arab. They both need some serious hoof care. Should have pictures soon. :)

THE NEW GUY

Here's Bart. Isn't he precious? He recently joined the family and will be staying here with us. Can't wait to take him to his first festival!!

OUR JIM

I am sad to report that we lost Jim today. He was around 35 years old. We did have beautiful weather this past Saturday and he spent the day giving rides to the little ones. Something he loved to do. He will always be missed, and never be forgotten.
